GOOD CORONAVIRUS PREVENTION TIPS TO FOLLOW!

We’ve seen the coverage of the Coronavirus all over the news for weeks now. As the number of cases increase it’s important to know what tips you can take to help you stay healthy. Some measures include being extra thorough when washing your hands and others are just common sense as staying away from people who are sick.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the following are some good tips to practice:

1.Wash hands frequently

We hear it all the time but keeping your hands clean is imperative! Frequently practice the following hand cleaning measures to keep your hands clean:

  • Use alcohol based hand rub
  • Clean hands with soap and water thoroughly

*Washing hands thoroughly kills viruses that may be on your hands. Also be sure to wipe down your cell phone daily with disinfectant wipes!

2. Maintain social distancing

It’s easier said than done to avoid large crowds and mass amounts of people, especially when going to work or when you’re out socializing. The important thing to remember is to be smart. Avoid crowds if any of the following occur:

  • Stay home or away from large groups of people if you’re not feeling well.
  • Maintain 1-3 ft. in distance from anyone who is coughing or sneezing.

We can’t avoid living our daily lives but always remember to avoid putting ourselves in a position to become sick or infect other people.

3. Avoid touching eyes, nose & mouth

As previously stated keeping your hands clean is crucial! Therefore keeping your hands away from your eyes, nose and mouth is even more significant. Touching unclean surfaces then touching your face can quickly spread harmful bacteria.

We probably don’t even realize it when we scratch our eye or bite our nails but keeping your hands clean and away from these areas can greatly reduce the chances of getting sick.
